Judi Fairbairn
My interest in textiles as a medium for art is leading me to explore new
techniques and materials.
I am now developing individual pieces by fusing together layers of
synthetics that are then cut and marked using a soldering iron. I use
simple shapes and stitch; an integral part of the work is the play of
light, whether natural or artificial, over the surface. This enhances
and subtly alters the colours depending on the position of the viewer in
relation to the work.
My inspiration comes from many sources, currently both architectural
and natural forms and the use of perspective.
