Elizabeth Hinkes
I have always been
interested in making fabrics of my own, whether by making felt or by
using existing materials and changing them in some way to make a new
fabric. I like to recycle fabrics and change their original appearance
and texture. At the moment I am working with ready made felt and sewing
and cutting layers away to make a reasonably sturdy and functional
fabric. I may sew by hand or use the sewing machine. I prefer that my
work has a function as well as being pleasing to look at. The pieces I
have been working on most recently are inspired by the work of the Kuna
Indians who love bright colour and subjects from nature. Contact details If you would like to get in touch, please email me: elizabeth@odysseytextileart.co.uk.
